Lenore Rivera: Being There

Part eight

Thanks for reading my blog regarding my life as a caregiver for my mother.

As many of you know, it’s quite the journey, to say the least. Although there have been many dark times for me, I honestly don’t think I would change a thing.

Mom is now only minutes away from me, so I can be there in a heartbeat should anything, or I should say WHEN something, happens to her.

She’s oblivious to her illness, but is a very happy woman by nature. She always has a smile and loves to kiss everyone (anyone who meets her can vouch for that!). I have learned so much about this horrible illness that my mother is strickened with.

I’m learning what to expect in her last days, hoping this knowledge will ease my sadness as I see her slowly fade from my life.
