Three Reasons Home Care Might be Right for You

When home care is required by a loved one, many families cite three major reasons for needing the help.

The number one reason is the most common. We find ourselves in an unfamiliar medical situation with an immediate need to provide a protective environment for our loved one. Most families do not have the medical expertise or capacity to care for a loved one who needs oversight and assistance in order to remain safely in their home. When a skilled home care professional assists a loved one this provides the family with much needed downtime and peace of mind, allowing them to regroup and recharge; knowing the loved one is in good hands.

The second reason, finds home care professionals assisting with “activities of daily living,” or ADLs. These include:

  • Bathing;
  • Dressing; and
  • Grooming.

Many times a home care professional will also run errands, pick up groceries, provide companionship, clean and take your loved one to medical appointments.

The final and most important reason for home care is the fact that when done right, it can keep a loved one from needing a more intensive or higher level of care, such as a skilled nursing facility.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure your loved one gets to live at home for as long as possible; home care makes this a reality.
